Our stay in Costa Rica is wonderful!! but we have to leave the country for a minimum of 72 hours every 90 days. Well we were not at the 90 day point yet, but our friends were, so we went with them to Nicaragua for 3 days.. When we returned from Nicaragua, we now have a full 90 days before we leave in April.We went to Granada by Bus. This block is for the most part of the day, blocked off to vehicle traffic, and reserved for Sidewalk restaurants and pedestrians

Hotel Colon, A very old, but refurbished hotel. They were booked or we may have stayed here.
Day two: Off to Messiah shopping... That is an experience.. First walk through the street markets in Granada, where they do sell Everything, to get to the bus to Messiah.
Try not to loose one another.. Chuck was always behind!!
Past the horse and cart, parallel parking!
Then finally on the OLD school bus, to Messiah.. oh yes.. first the ladies come on selling mostly food & drinks, but pretty much anything else they have.
And the little ones are always curious. I took his picture and showed him it, the only thing I would have like to do is print it off and give it to him. He was so sweet and it brought a huge smile on his moms face when we showed them the picture.
The only picture of the market I have is of Chuck and a young girl he bartered with for probably 1/2 an hour!
You can see a little of how narrow the isles are and how full the shelves are. There is stuff on the floor, shelves and hanging from the roof.
One Tucktuck
The owner of the hotel in which we stayed, has this his own tucktuck.
I do wish my fan palm looked like this one... not right now but in October it was close!! This is the inner courtyard to our hotel. It was lovely.
Something is to be said for a courtyard!! This was truly wonderful!
Gary took us out for a steak dinner, which was wonderful!! cooked on an open grill as seen here... We now all want one!!

There is a ferry that actually lands here.. from the other side of the lake.. possibly...
This is a great street, for blocks, it is cut off from traffic, and open to pedestrian traffic..
Some how some vehiles do get down.. but mostly only for persona's.
You can see how the houses/ come out to the edge of the road.. hense the inner courtrayrd

Then there was the trip home.. up at 4: AM to catch a 5 AM Bus.. so we watched the sunrise from the bus. You can see the volcano off in the distance.
